Quality Accommodation For Aboriginals
At Mirnutharntu Maya, we are dedicated to providing quality accommodation for Aboriginals who are pursuing studies or employment opportunities in and around South Hedland and Port Hedland.
Our establishment was founded with the mission to offer safe, affordable, and supportive housing for Western Australian Aboriginal students, apprentices, trainees, employees, and those engaged in work-ready programs.
Our Mission
Mirnutharntu Maya was established with a clear mission: to provide a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for individuals who are off country, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits and/or professional responsibilities. We understand the importance of a conducive living space in achieving success, and our facility is tailored to meet these needs.
In addition to providing accommodation, we go the extra mile to support the personal and professional growth of our residents. Our onsite mentors are committed to facilitating the development of life skills and promoting individual independence. Whether it’s academic guidance, career advice, or personal development, our mentors are here to help you achieve your goals.
Accommodation Options
Our facility offers various accommodation options to cater to different needs. Whether you are a student, apprentice, trainee, employee, or on a work-ready program, we have you covered. Additionally, we extend our services to “prac” students, providing them with the necessary support and amenities during their practical training periods. For more information on our offerings, feel free to reach out to us.
Zero Drugs & Alcohol
At Mirnutharntu Maya, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents. Therefore, our facility strictly adheres to a drug and alcohol-free policy. Residents can relax and enjoy our onsite facilities without any concerns, knowing that they are in a secure and supportive environment. Our friendly onsite staff is always available to assist and ensure a comfortable stay for all residents.
Inclusive Accommodation
While our primary focus is on providing accommodation for Aboriginals, we also extend our services to non-Aboriginal trainees, apprentices, and employees. Our goal is to assist anyone in need of secure, clean, and affordable housing in South Hedland. Moreover, we recognise the importance of accessibility and offer a small number of accessible rooms to cater to the specialised needs of wheelchair users.
